Success!

Ethan now has 2 cochlear implants, the surgery was very successful! Here he is this morning, in the hopspital waiting to be discharged. They kept him overnight to keep him hydrated and to keep the pain under control. He came out of surgery at 3:30 p.m. and slept until 4 a.m., waking only a few brief times to sip some juice. What a champ we've got!

We'll be leaving here for home shortly, just wanted to update everyone and thank you all for thinking of us.

Aaah - the vibrant blue neoprene; I think ours is tucked in Tom's underwear drawer somewhere.

Well done all of you - you're in our thoughts

Yay! You're done. What a cutie- love the blond curls on top of his head in that picture! Now you have the 'fun' wait for activation. I was never very patient :)

Is he running all over the place yet? It was always hard to keep ours quiet afterwards.

Take care,
Melissa

Such great news!!!!! :D I love that they kept him overnight. We had such a hard time waking Erin up after her surgery. I wish we could have just let her sleep and sleep.

I think Ethan and Erin have the same hair. :-D

I am glad that Ethan's surgery went well. Now, that the difficult surgery part is over, you get to look forward to seeing his progress with the second implant. It has been a very fun time for us, and I hope it is for you too.
